Watch what you eat: If colonoscopy is ok that will rule out cancer on the colon. You still have possible fissure . Keep your bowel soft and avoid food with nutts or seeds

Possibly melena?: Dark-colored stools may result from iron supplements, foods you eat (like a lot of spinach), substances (like peptobismol), but most significantly suggests bleeding. When blood is denatured by acid in your stomach, as from ulcers, stools will turn tarry ("melena"). Blood may also be ingested from nose bleeds, bleeding gums... Persistent melena (without obvious cause) &amp; symptoms warrants md visit.

Not necessarily: Many food products, especially those with a a hard seed covering such as sesame seeds can be hard to digest and will often be seen in ones stool. Corn kernels are another example of a food often seen in the stool.  Hope this helps.

Can't really: tell from your description and without lab analysis of stool but I would check what she is eating first.  Sounds like she is ingesting something that is undigestable

Stool color: is highly variable and often depends on diet. Tiny black flecks in a yellow stool perhaps indicates that you may have eaten something spiced with turmeric or curry. The tiny seeds may be undigested nigella seeds or black sesame seeds. No cause for alarm. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

i have what seems like sesame seeds in my stool for about a year. ive been tested for parasites and it comes back negative. no symptoms. not my diet.

Gastroenterologist: These may be pieces of mucus. Consult a gastroenterologist who will perform a rectal examination in the office and also examine a stool specimen then. Any appropriate tests can be ordered after that assessment.

Stool: This could be some type of parasite.  Also could be just that: undigested seeds.  If you are noticing this recurrently you need to get a stool sent for a sample.

Colitis: An inflammatory condition of the large bowel, rectum and anus must be evaluated to see if it is due to infection or non-infectious causes, and this will generally require full history, exam, possibly colonoscopy and an exam of your stools for cells, culture and ova and parasites at a minimum. This cannot be done on the internet. See a GI doctor.

i have had a distended abdomen for the last 7-8 days. no vomiting, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, chills but "some" reduced appetite. diagnosed with diverticulitis years ago but very rarely and issue. had some small brown seed pods in stool. thanks?
