the roots of my hsir hurt. my scalp hurts to the point it does not let up ever. no dandruff no outward signs of anthing. i need relief?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Depression is not a moral failing, just a chemical imbalance in the brain. Exercise and medications can help.

For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

No: Your baby may have a common benign newborn condition called "cradle cap". It is a kind of baby dandruff caused by overactive oily glands on the scalp. Try applying a small amount of baby oil or olive oil to the scalp, then using a soft baby brush to gently remove the flakes, and then wash your baby's hair. If that does not do the trick, contact your doctor as there are alternative treatments.

Scalp rash: Ring worm of the scalp, is not a worm, but a fungus infection, that almost always only seen in children.. The get a thick rash, and often there is an area where the hair does not grow.White flakes on the scalp is called dandruff and is caused most often by seborrheic dermatitis or psoriasis, both chronic and treatable, not curable, conditions. Try to use dandruff shampoos, very often.

Scalp paresthesia: Smoking several cigarettes in a short period of time could intensify the effects that occur normally. Rapid breathing in and out - ala hyperventilation - could in itself cause paresthesia or numbness of hands, feet, or head. Nicotine does cause vascular constriction so could be responsible as well. Why only the scalp - not certain.

: HIV infection is known to worsen seborrheic dermatitis, but is only to be suspected in individuals with high risk sexual behavior. Or in other words, if you are worried about getting infected following a high risk sexual encounter you should test, if no high risk sexual activity, see your doc to escalate treatment for seborrheic dermatitis that can be affected by a variety of other factors.

scalp is tingling instead of itching after one day use of neutrogena t/gel, is this a good sign? should i continue using it?

Shampoos: T gel shampoo is a mild, over the counter medicated shampoo, that is helpful for psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp.It is possible that you are allergic to tgel, but i believe you should try it several more times. You can also use Hydrocortisone cream or lotion 1%, to rub into your scalp for the tingling, and for the condition you were using the tgel for.

is there a relation between hiv and dandruff/seb derm? i have googled it and it's full of such articles that seb derm could be an early sign of hiv? how true is that? too frightened with my severe dandruff on scalp?

: If you have not had sex no worries.  I you have get tested for HIV would be best.  If negative always use protection and ask partners their HIV status or demand a test.

i have itching from my scalp to my ankles with no rash or other visible signs. i have not started using anything new and have no idea what this is.

Itching: See your internist for a workup to include a complete blood count and possible chest xray. Also see a dermatologist for help with your itching.
