Tonsillectomy : Pain in the ear is common.  Follow your doctors instructions about which foods to eat. "rough" foods can still trigger bleeding at 8 days post op.

Infection: Could be an infection. The ear canal is susceptible to fungal and bacterial infections that can create pus which dries to form a "scab". Either needs a prescription for treatment. See a Dr in person for a thorough exam and diagnosis.

See a dermatologist: The ear can sustain sun damage. This can be anything from just a mild condition (actinic keratosis) to early skin cancer formation. See a dermatologist. Sometimes a specific prescription skin ointment can be used, or other options if needed.

I would recommend: that you have him examined to check those scabs. He may have impetigo, which is a bacterial infection that needs to be treated. The lumps behind his ears are probably inflamed lymph nodes that may or may not be related to the scalp lesions.

Skin infection : It sounds like impetigo.  Clean the area with soap and water regularly and use some antibiotic cream or ointment.  If it persists after doing that for a couple of says, then see a physician for an evaluation and probably stronger antibiotics.    Avoid putting your hair behind your ears until healed.
