Why ask here?: It's SOP before a procedure to have the patient read, discuss &amp; sign a consent form that should describe the procedure &amp; will (or should) specifically list all the possible complications of the procedure. A good practitioner will (or should) also provide you with printed aftercare instructions. If these are not happening, you have a legitimate concern. Ask.

Where on the : Foot does it hurt? What does the pain feel like? What time of day does it hurt? Does anything make it feel better? How did it start?

Clot or muscle: Either a venous clot, or muscle spasm from strain or cramp.  Could be a pulled medial hamstring, vastus medialis, adductor longus, adductor magnus, gracilis, and/or sartorius.  See what motion of left hip or knee triggers it.  See sports medicine specialist or physiatrist.

Discomfort: Nerve impingement feels different than just "discomfort".  From your description of the symptoms, unlikely.  There may possibly be other reasons for your discomfort.

Nerve pain: Hi, nerve pains are usually burning form, the way you are describing it, it sounds more like nerve compression pain. If you have swelling of the Calf, a Doppler ultrasound would be helpful to make sure there is no blood clot

Venous flow down: Venous flow goes up  toward the heart and arterial flow goes down from heart and lungs back to extremities. Venous reflux is blood that flows downward pooling in the leg due to a genetic problem with valves

Its length: The great saphenous vein is used for CABG because of its length and size and because you can live without it.  There are limitations to its use though.  If it has become abnormal because of having varicose veins, it isn't used.  Nowadays, stents are often used where veins used to be required or arteries from inside the chest or the wrist are used instead.

Vague finding.: Normally during a venous ultrasound, the greater and small saphenous veins should be fully compressible meaning that they are soft and do not contain clots.  This , however, is not 100% foolproof. Sometimes , depending on the the equipment used and experience of the ultrasonographer, veins may appear  partially compressible.  Any old inflammation of a vein may also thicken  its walls causing this.
