Variable: If you have a true infection, you should be on antibiotics. You should find a health care professional who can examine you and prescribe one. There is no way to determine how quickly the infection will spread, especially without a medical history and a clinical and radiographic evaluation.

: You have been overdoing it, so back off.  You need to brush and floss well at least once in a 24 hr period preferably before retiring at night. Doi not brush immediately after meals it will harm your teeth. 24 hours: No rinsing is done for the first 24 hours after the extractions are completed.  Then the day after extractions, start the warm salt water rinses.  Put a teaspoon of salt in a juice glass of warm water.  Swish for 1-2 minutes and then spit out gently.  Do this 3-4 times a day for a few days.    These rinses help to soothe the sore gums and promote their healing at the extraction sites.

Wrong Attempts: 1) get on an antibiotic like amoxicillin.
2) take 1-aspirin + 1-tylenol.
3) get to a dentist as soon as able.
4) your attempts do not work because they do not properly address the probable infection and associated pain.
