Montelukast is an asthma drug which works in a different way As a leukatriene receptor antagonist. They don't have any drug interactions with each other. Just be more careful next time.

Drugs: Promethazine is an antihistamine and increases the viscosity of your mucus secretions and makes you tired. The DM stands for dextromethorphan which is a synthetic narcotic which acts on the CTZ (central triggering zone) in the brain stem to turn off cough. It reduces coughing but doesn't address the central problem of why you're coughing, the presence of the mucus.
