See your ORS: Popping and catching after ACL reconstructive surgery using patellar tendon can be related to the graft taken... that is patellofemoral ‘crepitus’— catching and popping esp. w/ leg extensions, stair-climbing. Best to see your orthopedist and get examined. Sometimes the graft hypertrophies( cyclops lesion)and can cause similar symptoms. Best of luck!

Strengthening: A minor meniscus rupture or tear does not always require surgery. Many will do well with strengthening of the muscles around the knee, range of motion exercises, ice and anti-inflammatory medications to keep swelling down, and avoidance of any jumping-twisting activities.

ACL deficiency : Without acl reconstruction you can expect instability particularly with decending stairs or turning quickly from side to side. Long term acl deficiency ultimately will end up with severe osteoarthritis in 15-20 years. In the interim, meniscus tears (cartilage"shock absorbers" in the knee) are more likely.

?: If you mean without surgery  it would be several weeks of gradual improvement 
many people would be back to many activities  perhaps in a brace by 3 months
acl tear and meniscus tears do not heal fully without some surgical intervention  but the pt can improve on their own quite a bit sometimes.

Torn cartilage: There is torn cartilage in the posterior knee joint.   This can cause swelling, pain, and even "locking" of the knee joint.   An orthopedic surgeon can view the MRI and determine the best course of treatment.

Extrusion: Meniscal extrusion refers to cartilage extending beyond the tibial margin.   Basically, a piece of cartilage is  where it shouldn't be.

This can result from several pathologies, such as:

--presence of development of cartilage disruption and osteoarthritis

or, in your case:

--meniscal tears: can occur with many tears, but especially root tears

I strongly recommend you seek the attention of a board certified orthopedic surgeon, hopefully one with sports medicine experience. You don't want to give up on your knee at 32, so get going.
