Worms: Most likely not required. Sometimes the sign of infection is anemia which will not give you symptoms until very severe .   But in general not a bad disease, so should be okay to wait. Discuss with your doc.

Won't die: Round worms / tape worms are annoying and rarely uncomfortable but you won't die. If you have accidental exposure (such as eating with unwashed hands after cleaning up from an infected animal) have your doctor test your own poop. Simple medications are avaialbe, if needed.

In rare cases tapeworms have blocked intestines & damaged the eyes, heart, brain & liver.
