colorec doc found fissure.  gave nitro ointment. viola. problem diagnosed. recommended colonoscopy. why? i'm 42. no fam history. seems premature?

Why colonoscopy?: Fissure may have been only cause of bleeding, but doc needs to make certain that was the only cause. Diverticula, Crohn's ds, polyps, cancer call all cause rectal bleeding. Colon cancer is not something to wait and see; once it's there, it's very hard to treat. Prevention is much better than needing treatment. SO, for completeness' sake he's recommending colonoscopy.

when i play my viola, i get an intense tingling pain on the surface or just under my skin in my back. ive practiced good form and everyone ive seen for it says its muscular and gives an anti inflammatory, which does nothing. perhaps nerve-related?

: Have you considered stretching and strengthening program?  You should get a Referal too late physical therapist, or a physiatrist   You are very young and use that to your advantage. Exercise!  And you will enjoy your music endeavors even more

Spurs: These relatives of osteoarthritis don't dissolve. Anti-inflammatory medications like Advil or Aleve may reduce the amount of inflammation,however. A rheumatologist is best qualified to advise you.

my twins are on formula. we are using similac sensitive but need to cut costs and wondered if parents choice or roger generics would be ok and safe?

Mgt: I would suggest buying the same formula or a national brand, at a large discount store such as Costco. It is important that the formula is made in the U.S. and has the same/similar ingredients and calories. I would suggest asking your Pediatrics clinic for samples and about the the WIC program which can help to cut costs.

See dermatologist: Pityriasis Rosea usually involves the trunk and has a particular appearance of lesions. Once in a while, it might only involve the groin area. It usually is not contagious and generally occurs only once. See dermatologist for confirmation and poss tx if necessary. PR usually resolves on its own within several weeks.

Cold?: I'm guessing you made a typo. For a cold there's mostly symptom relief. Drink lots of water, rest, avoid spreading it - even back to self by hands near eyes, etc. OTC meds can help - ask druggist if you don't have a favorite. Eat lightly &amp; avoid stress.
