Can't predict: Hearing a heartbeat means the fetus is alive when the heartbeat is heard. This does not necessarily mean that the risk of a miscarriage is significantly decreased. On the other hand if a heart beat isn't present then miscarriage becomes much more possible or probable. Not sure what the actual miscarriage rate is.

If the fetus: was visualized sonographically with cardiac activity at 173bpm, there is no miscarriage. It won't increase or decrease the chance of subsequent miscarriage, however.

Slim, about 5%: The chance of miscarriage after documenting a normal heartbeat of the baby is low, less than 5%.  But, it's still possible.  By 14 weeks, if everything is progressing normally you are pretty much out of the miscarriage window!  good luck! everything should be fine!

Very low: Although you could still have a miscarriage, hearing the heart beat at 9 weeks makes it very, very unlikely. It's in the range of 1 out of 100. You shouldn't be worried. Good luck!

: Reaching a documented "7 weeks " in pregnancy does statistically reduce the incidence of spontaneous miscarriage, but will not eliminate that eventuality, as other causes can occur later in pregnancy.  Lack of bleeding or cramping at "7 weeks" usually means the pregnancy is doing well at this point.

Chances are lower: Obviously twins are a higher risk for complications than a single gestation but with 2 very healthy heartbeats you certainly can breathe somewhat easier. Your OB will go over with you risks of twins at the various gestational ages but i would try to relax at this point.
