i am looking after someone who has had a bad bout of malaria. temp has been normal for past 2 days. very fatigued today. urine was dark colour up until yesterday. today back to normal. concerned about anemia. do i need to take action or is quiet rest?

Malaria : Please take that person to the emergency room. The person may have a severe form with anemia

is it normal to have one freckle that is darker than the rest?

Neoplasm is possible: When one "freckle" is darker than the others, it may be suggestive of a possible melanoma and needs to be investigated and probably biopsied to be sure it is not neoplastic.  
Dermatologists will usually perform this kind of evaluation.

is it normal when a male goes to the rest room 1 or 2 hours daily?

Accepted Answer

No: Going to the restroom for 1 or 2 hours at a time is not normal. Presumably this is for bowel movements, which should take place in a shorter time frame.
 May need medical evaluation or adjustments in dietary intake- fluids, vegetables/fruits, fiber, etc.

I would see a derm: to review the moles to determine if they are completely normal or need a biopsy.

Need more info: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. However what you described suggests venous stasis. If she is overweight that may be contributing to the problem and losing weight would be imperative.

Darker Skin: If you want to lighten your skin there are prescription strength bleaching cream like hydroquinone. The other option is to darken the other areas of your skin that are lighter.

Skin splotch: Sorry, there really isn't enough description here to give you a good differential. Recommend that your dermatologist evaluate.

Areola line: Yes. But would ask other women in family to see if they have it as well. Google areola pigmentation and look at images. Tends to get darker during after pregnancy.

You can try scrubs: and OTC Am-lactam, but may need topical prescription lighteners from derm

More sun exposure..: ..is usually the explanation for one's face being darker.  Sun exposure increases the secretion of the skin pigment melanin. Other exposures may also contribute: dirt, pollution, etc. If you've tried everything, you obviously have started using sun block every day, but it may be difficult to get your face back to the shade of the rest of your body. Consult a Dermatolgoist for cosmetic expertise.
