HIV is not inactive: if you have HIV it is not inactive. You need protection all of the time if you have any potential exposure. The Protection is always needed but unfortunately nothing is 100% effective

Get tested: The only way to know whether or not someone is infected with HIV is to be tested for it. Exposure history or symptoms can give clues, but most infections occur without symptoms. The best test(s) and timing depend on level of risk and other factors. Best to contact an expert, such as your nearest government-suppored sexual health centre. (Australia's SHCs are among world's best STD/HIV clinics.)

Will NOT!!: Hiv is not transmitted casually, and contact with people who have HIV disease is quite safe.  In order to become infected there must be intimate exchange of body fluids through sex, shared needle use, organ transplantation, blood transfusion, etc.  Your friend is doing the children and the community a great service, and thankfully she is not at risk of becoming ill because of it.

Don't Guess: Don't guess, just get tested. Testing is simple and often free at health departments. Your risk probably is low but it is not zero, so getting tested is your best bet.

HIV: If there was vaginal or anal penetration by a penis which was not covered by a condom there is a chance of transmission of hiv, even if there was no overt ejaculation.  Since this question is coming from a male subject the issue is not entirely clear. Be very very careful.  Hiv can also be transmitted by oral sex with ejaculate hitting the back of the throat or tonsils.

Depends: If you had intercourse with female and you used a condom every time, did not perform oral sex and she did not perform oral sex on you then chances ate very low though effectiveness of condoms is limited by users truthfulness about their use .., condoms at 95 to 99% if used properly 100% of the time.  It is simple and quick to get an HIV test. Get one now for piece if mind.

: You had a nearly zero risk exposure for HIV, and the AgAb ("duo") test is nearly conclusive -- around 99% -- at 37 days. So there is no chance you have HIV. But if you feel you need a truly conclusive blood test, do it against 45 days or more after the sexual event.
