what is the difference between a regular lymph node and a cancerous lymph node?

What it contains: Lymph nodes drain a region of a body of its toxins, pathogens, & dead cells through the lymphatic system.  This parallels the venous system.  Once the lymphatic fluid from distant cells reaches a node, white blood cells either kill or process the contents.  Cancerous nodes simply collected cancerous cells that drained from its territory.  The cells then were able to multiply in that node as well.

cyst near lymph node i'm 18 do doctors only asks for biopsy if it looks suspicious or do they sometimes biopsy regular looking nodes just to be safe?

Try not to biopsy: usually look at image, wait to see if it grows or changes, and biopsy if persistent or suspicious.
you don't want to biopsy everything, but don't want to miss anything so we try to careful and watchful.   Best to discuss with your doctor.

what is the regular size of an intramammary lymph node? could be confused with a lipoma?

Less than 2 cm: Some times very small ones  may be confused with lipoma , but experienced radiologist will not , as each has its own distinct finger prints, by way of appearance , density or  grey scale etc   of course any density in breast calls for a concern , some times need core biopsy of the area to make sure that there is no malignancy.

my toddler have multiple enlarged lymph node the sizes are 3.2 x1.2 x2.3cm  for 4 months . he has no other symptoms . hes very energetic happy,  and eat regular,  he  will be doing blood works tomorrow but  my anxiety is sky high right now help?

Helping anxiety: Sounds like the doctor tomorrow will take care of the child, but the adult can get help from his or her own primary doctor. A person with an anxiety disorder has a life of anxiety unless he gets good treatment. A person without an anxiety disorder, of course, doesn't have a life of anxiety... but probably still gets a bit anxious from time to time, as when kids are ill. It depends on the details.

hi, i have a palpable lymph node in the post auricular region. its about 2cm, regular surface, rubbery and non-movable. my doctor said there is nothing, but i am obviously feeling something. worried.

Impossible to say: The only way to answer that question would be with an examination.  The likely causes are folliculitis, furuncle or sebaceous cyst which may be infected.  If it is a problem for you, a doctor's appointment would be helpful.

: You are likely correct. Any disturbance of the skin surface as would be in tattoo removal may trigger enlargement of local nodes that can persist for a few weeks.

They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.  They shrink when all is well.
