i have irregular periods. i took regesterone tablets since my period was delayed. i had to take 2 tablets per day. bt some days i took only 1. and before 10 days i took one regesterone tablet by mistake. how has this affected my body?

Not a problem: It is always best to take your medication exactly as directed by your doctor. Missing a few Progesterone pills though is not going to cause harm. Birth control pills might be a better option for long term cycle regulation if you continue to be irregular.

Irregular periods: Multiple factors. However taking Progesterol will require longer than 3 days to regulate your period.  Speak to your Gynecologist

Other options: Irregular periods are very common in teenagers. There are many options to help with cycle control. Progesterone pills are only one of them . Schedule a follow up visit to discuss alternatives such as birth control pills that might give you better menstrual cycle control.

Irregular menses: Rigevidon is a combined oral contraceptive pill with a progestin and ethinyl estradiol.  Oral contraceptive pills are often used to treat women with irregular cycles to regulate their menses.  This does not treat the cause of having irregular menses. Many women when they stop the 'pill' will go back to irregular menses.   Your physician can help you determine the cause of irregular menses.

Next menses: The pill may be started day 1 of your next menses or on the first sunday after starting your menses. If you have not menstruated for over two months and are not pregnant, your menses may be induced with progesterone.

Not needed : If your periods are 56 days apart then you are not ovulating or at least not ovulating consistently. An ovulation test is not going to be helpful since we know by your history ovulation is an issue.  If you are wanting to get pregnant go ahead and see a doctor to discuss ovulation medication like clomid (clomiphene).

Continuous : If you skip the placebo pills and start a new pack; you can delay your period for as long as you want. This is safe and can be done for several cycles at a time. The biggest risk is breakthrough bleeding.

Yes: Yes, this is not dangerous, just annoying. If it lasts longer than 2 months, considering switching to another pill. If you have missed more than 1 pill per month, do a pregnancy test and consider switching to another form of birth control such as an iud or Implanon or nuvaring.
