i had prk surgery on april 13...when i use refresh plus my vision becomes much sharper for about 10 seconds then goes back to blurry or less sharp... how long does this blurriness usually last?... i know prk has a long recovery time but its annoying?

: This question is best answered by the operating ophthalmologist who knows exactly how much reshaping of your cornea was done, what the eye looked like on your postop checkup and what eye drops were prescribed. I do know that full healing may take months.

Accepted Answer

Depends: It is reasonable to use these drops within one year of expiration.  If longer than that, discard.

Accepted Answer

yes: As long as the bottles were not opened so that sterility is not an issue, then they can be used after the expiration date as there is no medication in these products that can expire or decay.

Accepted Answer

Yes: The dates on products such as eye drops are usually very conservative. The biggest issue in using longer is that bacterial growth can start on the applicator tip once the cap is removed. I recommend that using longer than 3 months isn't a good idea even if the dates are ok.

If sealed it is OK: There is nothing in Refresh plus that would decay unless stored in excessive heat.  As long as the bottle/ container is undisturbed and the solution within them appears clear, you can use them.

: Steroid drop is used to reduce the inflammation. It is usually given for one month but it depends on your eye physician.

The later is called herpes zoster ophthalmicus. This is a chronic disease requiring chronic steroid eyedrops. See your ophthalmologist to find out if you have this and need more treatmen

See an eyeMD: There can be many components to a red eye. Many times chronic inflammation of your eyelid margins, dry eyes or allergies can underlie a conjunctivitis. A short course of a steroid antibiotic combination may not be sufficient or may even make the situation worse as can the preservatives in certain tear preparations. Please see an ophthalmologist to try and make a better diagnosis and treatment plan

yes: Refresh is what i call a syrupy tear which coats the eye and lasts longer than most other tears.  There are some alternatives but this is one of the best if you have eye dryness.

Yes: This is an eye lubricant and can help keep the eye moisturized throughout the day.  If you are requiring daily usage, you may also consider using gel at night time.
