Relieves some stress: Foot reflexology relaxes the patient, relieving some of his stress, because of the patient's getting a foot massage and getting to interact with a caring person. Stress-related symptoms can improve. The patient feels better because he believes he should feel better (otherwise he quits going to the reflexologist), but there isn't anything else about the "reflexology" that changes any disease state.

Not a proven therapy: Realy don't know. Probably reflexology charts online?  Unfortunately, there are no double blind placebo controlled studies that indicate any clinical effectiveness of reflexology.

Reflexology: As a podiatrist, i love reflexology. The massage part is very understandable to me and the connection of the foot to other parts of the body very stimulating. I have no qualms about sending a patient to reflexology. A typical positive response is seen within 3 sessions if that is the right approach. Diagnostically, i hope you are exploring with other causes of your constant foot pain.

Many possibilities: Foot pain could result from different reasons, of which may include: trauma (fracture, tendon or ligamentous tear, arthritis), infection, metabolic conditions (gout) musculoskeletal or biomechanical abnormality, or neurologic conditions (neuropathy). A thorough history and physical exam and possibly laboratory and radiology exams could determine the cause.  If symptoms persist get it evaluated.
