Tricky: dermatologic conditions are hard to discuss without seeing them, and localized infection, or more likely localized (and likely Very Temporary) inflammation from the treatment. Localized ice pack for a half hour might be one option for day 1 followed by warm compress. But.. can't really say without seeing it.

ive noticed some purple/red mottled skin on my inner thigh/leg (both) + abdomen. flank pain on both sides radiating to the front. arms + hands have been redder. losing hair frequently. face redness around nose and cheeks, and lost my appetite. help?

Rash: There is a rather large range of possibilities with that description. Could include acne, rosacea, herpes, contact allergy to make up or any other topical. See your doctor if it persists. Note if it is itchy or painful or not. Try to recall if used a new soap/lotion/make up.

Non-alchohol: Have you seen a doc?  Get a diagnosis first, then avoid any skin creams that contain alcohol because they will dry out your skin.  Lubricate from the inside w/good quality marine fish oil or coconut oil.

Rosacea?: If there is redness extending to your cheeks, it may be a special condition. See a dermatologist to get more information and treatment options. Until then, make sure you aren't cleaning your face too aggressively- use gentle soap and don't scrub too much.

Virtual consult: You may upload a photo of the rash during a virtual consultation. Watch for signs of impetigo, including crusted lesions or blisters. Monitor temperature, avoid contact of the skin with irritants, fragrances and apply a thin layer of Bacitracin ointment twice daily until evaluated. If he has been blowing his nose, the skin may become inflamed and will resolve usually without complications.

Possibly psoriasis?: Psoriasis can lead to red patches with dry flaky skin on top.  It can also be from just excessive wiping when you have an upper respiratory infection.  Feel better!
