i've noticed for the past 2 weeks i have these small red patches with bumps scattered above my chest and it itches occasionally. what could this be?

Needs To Be  Checked: It may be an allergic type of rash as it itches too.it.But it needs to be checked visually  and since it has been there for two weeks &amp; has not cleared.if it was due to a viral infection, it would have cleared in two weeks.Also it can be. Due to some insect bites. Thrre are other causes but in those cases there will be other co existing symptoms.And you have not mentioned any . Get it checked byMD

Check it out: Most likely seborrheic dermatitis, but scaling patches on face after 40 should get checked out by your pcp.

See a rheumatologist: It is impossible to say if the joint pain and rash is related to the positive ANA or if the rash and joint pain are from a different cause such as psoriasis. See a rheumatologist if you have not done so already.

Get checked: Could be a chancre sore, apthous ulcer, tonsillitis, virus or strep. See your doctor as soon as you can!

Psoriasis: He has psoriasis.  It sounds severe. There are medications to help. Please get him to a good dermatologist.

Could be many things: Red patches could be a few minor broken blood vessels from rubbing your eye-this occurs more frequently in the winter &in older patients.  Red patches can also be benign growths of scar tissue at 3 and/or 9 o'clock on the eyeball where the white part (sclera) meets the shiny front part (cornea)-these are called pinguecula when they aren't on the cornea & pterygium when they are. See your eye doc!

? Urticaria, or: a reaction to a food or medicine, avoid any food or medicine if you believe it is the cause, take OTC antihistamine, but read the labels carefully, and see your doctor or ER if really bothersome and progressive, good luck

Avoid these: If you suspect food allergy, or if foods cause skin rash, hives, or itching within 2 hours of ingestion (especially if this occurs consistently); then that food should be strictly avoided.  See an allergist to confirm and/or characterize the nature of the allergy.  Dust allergy is interestingly associated with certain food allergies.
