Dermatologist : Check with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon to see what might be the most appropriate treatment for you.  There are a lot of options out there depending on what "type" of redness it is.  Generally anti-inflammatory creams are a good place to start. Hope that helps!

Laser and peels: The red "marks" left over from acne can be troubling.  They are usually not true scars but more enlarged tiny blood vessels in the areas of inflammation.  Chemical peels (such as a beta peel) can help as can certain lasers such as the ktp or pulsed dye.  See your dermatologist to talk about these options.

Treat your acne: The red spots remain after the injury's been done and there's basically nothing you can do but give them two months to fade. All acne is manageable nowadays.  If you still have it after two weeks using benzoyl peroxide, or you have it on your trunk, get with your physician. You owe it to yourself -- acne's a personal and professional liability. Good luck.

i have pih on my face. also there is a bit of redness. i am currently using benzoyl peroxide but there are only few acne left on my face. can i also use kojic acid in mornings to treat pih ? i apply benzoyl peroxide only on nights.

Depends : If the marks are flat and just red it can take months for the coloration to go away .  Sometimes the pigmentation will never be completely normal. I wish you the best and that you skin will look great!

Hydroquinone : Skin lightening with hydroquinone or peels are good. Viderm makes great products.

I don't think so: Those red marks are likely to be some kind of hypertrophic and vascular scar.  You might be able to lighten or remove them with a laser treatment and/or botox.  See a dermatologist for the best options. Good luck!

Takes time: Eventually, if you are not having new lesions, the old red spots will eventually fade to skin color, as long as you avoid sunburn or other injury.  Unfortunately, it may take several years.
