Normal post-op: Erythema (red nessof the tissue) is one of the normal cardinal signs of inflammation that occur after a procedure, such as an extraction. 
If pain, swelling or fever occur, consult the treating dentist.

roots been left in after tooth extraction. can this lead to infection, i have a red line goin across my gum and painful sornes on side of palate?

It is possible: It is possible to get an infection however if the root tips are too close to a nerve or the sinus it is sometimes better to leave them in rather than to risk some possible permanent nerve  damage or a sinus perforation. I would return to the dentist that did the extraction and have the area rechecked.

Re-evaluation: The surgical site should be re-evaluated by the dentist who extracted the tooth.

Call your dentist: After an extraction it is normal to have some discomfort and the socket will take several weeks to look normal , you need to see the dentist so he can see exactly what you mean by 4 red points, can tell over the internet.

i'm 2&a half days post wisdom tooth extraction.the gum is very sore,red&bulging out (this didn't happen before).it's sunday what should i do?

Post wisdom tooth: It is normal for there to be some post op swelling and pain.  Continue to rinse are directed, eat a  soft diet, take prescribed antibiotics.  Call the extracting dentist if you are experiencing increasing pain or swelling.   It is ok to call even on a Sunday.

got dry socket after molar extraction, now have inflammed, red  gum, in same socket but nearer to wisdom tooth.antib's cause thrush, any other solutions?

See your dentist: Dry sockets do occur, especially if you are smoking (don't!). Please call the dentist who removed your tooth. He/she will evaluate for any infection, any secondary problem, and possibly place a soothing packing at the site.  Antibiotics may not be necessary unless there is swelling. Call today.

Dry socket???: May depend upon the tooth that was extracted and if there was infection there prior to having it taken out.  Time frame is also important- was it taken out recently or a few days have gone by?  Call the dentist/oral surgeon

Tooth extraction: Return to the surgeon to have the extraction site examined. You may have a piece of bone working its way out, or the area is just healing slowly and you are still feeling the edge of the extraction socket. The bad breath may be due to debris in the socket, or from other areas of your mouth.
In any case, you should be seeing your dentist for follow-up care.

Loose tissue: May just be working its way out of the socket. Very common for bone fragments to do this too.
