Multiple symptoms: Some may be due to your decayed (infected) teeth as infection spreads to other organ systems.  See BOTH your Dentist and your Physician for work-ups and treatment.

my feet are red & extremely dry on the soles only.  on the sole of my right foot the redness has darker colored red dots. they do burn & itch at times. i do keep lotion on them and that doesn't do much for the right foot.  any suggestion?

: Please see a dermatologist (skin doctor) so that you can be properly diagnosed and treated. You may need a different lotion or cream, possibly by prescription. This could be a type of eczema, or a fungal infection, or a result of an underlying condition, if you have any.

Allergic reaction: Usually rashes on the top of your feet are casued by some type of allergic reaction or contact dermatits. With your lower legs involved i would rule out edema/swelling as an issue as well. Your socks or shoes could be creating the rash on your feet more so if they got wet while wearing them or if you have changed soaps or detergents. If the rash persists or returns get examined by a doctor.

Get checked: This may be simple dry skin or possible fungal infection. For simple dry skin and flaking I recommend Lubriderm or Lac-Hydrin or Nivea skin conditioner; however direct observation and fungal culture is necessary to rule out athlete's foot.

Accepted Answer

Footwear : Footwear is the most common culprit in the development of atheletes foot.  For normal wear, do not wear tennis shoes, sweat socks, boots or sandals.  Wear the aforementioned only for special purposes.  Cotton socks, but not sweat socks for normal wear.  Have three pairs of shoes and alternate them so that whatever is going on in the shoe has time to dry out and die out before they are worn again and so that the pressure points on the feet vary from day to day.  Dry the feet well after showering including in between each toe and after removing the shoes if the feet are sweaty.  Do not just let them air dry, but actively dry them.  Prescription generic vytone 1% cream is often required for treatment when whitish maceration has developed between the toes.  This is the best treatment for this condition. It should be rubbed in thoroughly to the affected web spaces.  It may stain the socks.

Infection: Sounds like an infection of some cause. If there is any surrounding redness or streaking, you need to see a dr asap for antibiotics. In the meantime you can do some warm compresses and topical antibiotic ointment.

Moisturize them : If regular moisturizer is not working try going to sleep with Saran wrap on the feet under a sock after applying the moisturizer. Alternatively a high concentration urea cream is often helpful. ( over 40%).
