Hydroquinone: Hydroquinone cream is very well tolerated. Some women may experience minor and temporary skin irritations including mild itching or stinging and reddening of the skin (irritant contact dermatitis). If these do not subside stop using the cream.

Side effects that should warrant stopping the cream and seeking medical advice immediately include severe burning, itching, crusting, or swelling.

Depends on the cause: Retin A (tretinoin) will definitely not help &amp; irritate your skin more. If it's from shadows under your eyes &amp; due to sub clinical food allergies, neither will help. Address the cause to reduce the lymphatic congestion. If area is red/brown pigmented, laser can help. If it's from recent scar, you must wait for it to heal. Solaquin Forte 2% won't help, and can hypopigment surrounding skin.(Best 2 see skin Dr.)

You need dermatologi: With scarring of the skin and redness again , before the skin is damaged too much you need to ee a dermatologist. Don't use any bleaching creams anymore as your skin right now is sensitive and probably inflamed.

Read what is in it and go to drugs.com. Must have hurt a bit.Some of the junk in it might be get into blood stream. Read about all the things in it. I would not run anything into raw skin. Cover with a bandage so it can heal.

LittleRedRidingSpots: Be careful. That redness could become permanent. Use too much of that stuff or use it for too long and the irritant effect will turn your brown spots into little Jupiter's Eyes. Always best to apply topical creams that are used for dots or spots or little sun damage spots a little at a time. Try a test patch in the crook of your elbow first. And if it says apply daily, start with twice a week.

i have dark underarms and im using hydroquinone with retinon for 3 weeks now and i have redness that doesnt fade away should i stop using the cream   ?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Tretinoin is irritating and so is hydroquinone.  Coming from Jordan, you may have a skin type that darkens when it is irritated so this could actually make your dark underarms worse.  The initial darkening itself could have resulted from irritating deodorant, unless it is familial.  You might possibly be able to lighten it with laser treatment, but need to be seen by a specialist to be safe.
