i have a raised medium sized red bump on the inside of my forearm. it is hard & incredibly itchy. originally a bite (2018) but it went away. 13 months ago it would flare up and get itchy. 2 months ago it has remained itchy. what is it? wart, keloid?

Dermatologist: Consult a dermatologist. A bug bite site shouldn't remain itchy for more than 10  days or so. Some people can develop a keloid even after a scratch, but since your lesion is very firm and chronically itchy, I recommend that a specialist examine and advise you.

Not sure: There are a # of possible causes. The best way to get an accurate diagnosis would be dermatological evaluation.

Probable Allergic: Most likely a reaction to plants.Bites also possible. If no trouble swallowing or breathing, treat the itching with calomine lotion or cortisone cream.

Sensitivity rash: Sounds like either skin irritation or contact dermatitis (example is poison ivy, but many natural causes can exist). Be sure to wash all clothes, bedsheets, or anything else you may have been in contact with before showering (small amounts of resin can cause persistent activation). If it does not appear infected, then hydrocortisone may help. If not improved in a few days, may need examination.

Cool it!: You may have a form of dermatographia where mechanical stimuli cues your skin to get red, itchy or break out in rashes. Try taking more tepid baths rather than hot ones.
