Lip piercing: May be the problem. It is such an unnatural decoration where you are introducing a foreign metal. Maybe the salt had something to do with it by reacting with the metal.

You may have angiomas, peri-oral dermatitis, Actinic Keratoses, etc? Treatments will vary for these various conditions. You should visit a Dermatologist for further evaluation.
