Early period: I would  not be particularly concerned if your period is early on one cycle. If you have three or more cycles that are off that may warrant assessment for the irregularity.

Cycle: Normal cycle length, from the first day of bleeding to the next first day of bleeding, can be any where from 21-32 days. What you are describing is entirely normal.

Wait and see : Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Irregular timing: of ovulation, is most likely  reason,  delayed or absent ovulation will cause you to be late.  Of course even late ovulation can achieve a pregnancy if intercourse occurred at at time close to ovulation.  Recheck pregnancy test if no period going forward.
