Pain: Leg pain is commonly from electrolye problem in the muscle  causing cramps. Often the blood work can be normal. Try some magnesium and see if the pain improves.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!

son  3 weeks post microdisctomy.  leg pain gone but can't sit more than 20 or 30 min w/o pain.  dr sent son to pt at 2 week.  is this reason to worry?

No: The surgery helps the leg pain but will not give immediate relief for the back pain. Pt is appropriate and should help. Time will also help.

Nerve related: Pain in the entire leg can be from many causes.  The most common would be a nerve issue with your back (i.e. A herniated disk).  You can also have pain from circulation issues, too.

Unlikely the cause: Discs are the cushions between the vertebrae of the spine and with trauma or aging, the gel center of the disc can protrude, causing it to collapse and put pressure on the spinal canal and cord and nerves and sciatica.    It is rare to have this in early childhood, but has been seen in young adults who participate in active sports.  Spondylolithisis can occur at L5-S1 but usuallly causes back pain

Let me explain: When ever the radiate from the  buttock to the toes ? This means to me there is pinch nerve in the lower back .Check it.
