One of two things ?: Burning in the head is uncommon with metformin. One possibility is acidosis and the other is hypogycemia. Check your blood sugar if it occurs again. You need to tell the doctor who prescribed the metformin that  you are having this problem.

Typical add on: Onglyza or saxagliptin is a typical add on drug, many times added to metformin, diet and exercise in order to control diabetes. Anxiety is not a typical side effect described to it, hypoglycemia or low sugar and/or headaches being among most common side effects. Talk to your treating doc about your symptoms and blood glucose readings.

If you have gi: Problems with metformin, they are temporary and resolve with discontinuation of the medication.

question on my diabetes medication. i cannot take glucophage, it hurts my upper abdomen too much. so my doctor did put me on galvus with my diaglucide, which i take before breakfast. but i am afraid if galvus does cause weight gain or not?

Space it out: It's only 7 hours apart, side effects can be more pronounced, and you're almost maxed out on dosing with metformin. BID means twice a day when awake, can be 10-12 hours apart, not just 7 hours. If you do space the dose out and still have the problem, stop the medicine and contact your doctor, best wishes

No: I suppose it is possible to have an allergic reaction with a rash but that would be very rare. Gi irreitation is by far the most common side effects. Bruising would not be common at all.
