HE SHOULD: FIND OUT what is causing it and what the TREATMENT is and IF and WHEN his rash will not SPREAD to you or anyone else...and for the moment he SHOULD NOT have sexual contact until the rash is dealt with!

Virus: Many causes can produce the symptoms you describe, but it is likely you are suffering from a viral infection. Did you vomit?  Sometimes vomiting can cause small capillaries to break under the facial skin and give you a non itchy rash. It should go away by itself.

Possible: It is possible, but whole body itching suggests to me that we should look for a metabolic reason for your itching, such as high bilirubin or other metabolite.  See your doctor for evaluation.

Histamine: Your body makes histamine and this causes the rash after you are itching.  It is released as a signal to the body.  You see red. The body is increasing blood flow to mount a response to help.  It usually quickly fades.

Need to see a doctor: If the itching is just from sensitive skin or dry skin, such as eczema, then one can use an over-the-counter cream such as cerave, cetaphil, or eucerin. Adding Hydrocortisone cream for 1 week will help. Taking otc antihistamines such as Claritin (loratadine) or zyrtec helps too. The itching may also be due to an internal disorder, such as liver problems or intestinal parasites, so one should see a doctor.

Several types of inflammatory conditions of the skin, allergic reactions, and sometimes bacterial, viral or fungal infections can cause rashes on the skin. Insect bites can also be the cause of a rash on the skin.  Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

Thigh irritation: I suspect skin irritation of your thighs may be related to such things as continual friction and/or sweating and?Yeast infection Perhaps wearing tight jeans plays a role,also. Avoid tight clothing, keep the thighs clean and dry once the rash clears. In the meantime try applying an antiyeast anti-inflammatory ointment like mycolog. If no improvement, consult a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatm

Several things: Groin rashes/itches could be fungal, and you just do not see a rash yet. Could be a bug-like "crabs/mites" that you do not see or scabies.  These are all guesses so do not get scared, just see your dr for an evaluation and the real answer. Good luck.
