Viral or heat rash ?: Further history and physical exam is required to determine the etiology and diagnosis. It can very well be a heat  rash but also not uncommon is a viral cause for such a progressive rash. are there any associated symptoms ?

No: unless you are an HIV patient, even though, it doesn't sound like it. If you have a risk factor for acquiring HIV, get tested or see your doctor, best wishes

Allergic vs Scarlet: If you have a rash that we can look at it would be helpful to give you a better idea. If some of the rash disappeared then it's less likely to be anything serious. I doubt it was scarlet fever based on what you have described but it's possible. 
Other causes could be allergic reaction or medication reaction. 
I would watch and see if the fever comes back, if so please contact a doctor.

Baby acne: Baby acne is very similar in origin and distribution as that of a teenager. It arises from the hormones of pregnancy.The fetal waters  moisturizes babies skin early, preventing its appearance for weeks.The face ; upper chest ; back are most often involved along with the shoulders . All the lesions seem to be a similar age ; gradually fade over time with no treatment.

6 year old rash: Over 90% of generalized rashes like this in chidlren are due to viral infections and do not require any specific treatment. Just use calamine it it itches or otc cortisone cream. Other possibilities include a medication reaction or allergic eczema.

Rash after flu...: ...Raises the suspicion that it wasn't flu. Mono, scarlet fever, and roseola are some of the more common febrile illnesses that have rash as part of the picture.
