: Muscle cramping can be caused by deficiencies of calcium,magnesium &amp; electrolyte imbalance. You could try taking a magnesium supplement daily. If no improvement, see your physician for evaluation, testing and advice.

The : The best thing for you to do in this situation is to ask your doctor that cared for you while you were in the hospital why the second injection was given in the arm. Honestly it will be very difficult for anyone to comment on why the injections were given as they were since we did not order them and were not there. If there is any concern by your doctor, everything should be documented in your chart. For the future if you have any questions or concerns question the nursing staff or doctor right away.

Yes: Stress is a classic cause of rashes. It has the sound of hives, but with no itch, it is difficult to truly give you an answer. Simply follow the rash and if it progresses, then a doctor needs to look at it.

Maybe: The hepatitis c itself won't be a barrier to this surgery. The question will be how much damage there is to the liver. People with cirrhosis are at higher risk for complications from any surgery, including bypass.

Hepatitis : Hepatitis c is not an absolute contraindication to bypass surgery. A lot depends on the current status of your liver function.  Your physician will likely perform liver function tests as part of their evaluation. They may also recommend an ultrasound to evaluate the liver as well as the gallbladder if it is still present. If you have cirrhosis or hepatocellular cancer as a complication of your hepatitis c then you likely have other problems to deal with and bypass surgery is not right for you. If you have normal liver function then there is no absolute contraindication. This is when a conversation with your surgeon is key to understand risks and benefits as they apply to you. Be sure to discuss options in weight loss surgery with your doctor. Lap band and lap bypass are very different surgeries and each has its own risk and benefit.

R u already on it?: Bypass is not really an issue with most meds. Treatment of pain must be more than narcotics, and narcotics may make it worse.  What you need is not necessarily opiates, but a good evaluation by a pain specialist. The treatment of pain must require non=drug treatment as well as medications other than opiates. If you are already on methadone, you may need to detox, since finding prescribers is hard.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, and physical examination. It would be prudent to see your doctor as bleeding from any orifice warrants an evaluation.

You need calcium: Don't know if your surgery hindered your ability to absorb calcium/vitamin d, but it sounds like you are deficient.  Pth hormone acts by increasing calcium levels in the blood, so this appears to be high as a response to your low calcium.  If it were a PTH problem, your calcium levels would be abnormally elevated along with the PTH level.  Also, calcium & vitamin d absorption are related.
