hi, i just wanna ask about any cream that can use for my vagina because of itchiness? :( when i touch it, i feel rashes on the lips and clit part, i believe this is because of liners and napkins. thank you for the help doc!

Diagnosis: Vaginal itching without discharge can indicate infections like yeast or herpes. It can indicate an allergic reaction to household products like certain soaps and laundry detergents. There are also some skin conditions liked lichen sclerosis which can cause vaginal itching. Prevaleaf Soothe is my favorite over the counter treatment for patients to try. An exam is needed to make a diagnosis

i had used a hair removing cream on my vagina. i removed it after 5 min. it was bleeding.now it's itching vd  rashes.need help. i feel there is some swelling as well. can i use vaseline or any other cream to as it as rashes and burning sensation.

I : I would recommend taking advil (ibuprofen) if you can tolerate advil with no problems, and taking Benadryl (diphenhydramine) by mouth may help. Be sure all of the cream has been washed off completely. You could try a soothing cream such as vagisil also.  If this doesn't help then you may need to be seen.

Yeast?: An itchy vaginal rash is usually a yeast infection.  You can try treating it with an over-the-couner anti-yeast medication such as Monostat.  Keep the area dry.  If this doesn't solve the problem, you will need an exam as there are other less common causes.  Best wishes!

Yes: The basic ingredient is zinc oxide which is a barrier cream that protects the skin from wetness, so if this is a problem for you, if could help and won't hurt.

Don't know: You should talk to the pediatrician about this since I have no idea what kind of cream you are using. If it is intended for intravaginal use, it may be ok but must be intended for the appropriate condition.

Doubtful: Some kids can have an intolerance or allergic reaction to anything you put on their skin, especially in sensitive areas.Luckily that is rare in infants and to that medication.In the future if you want to do a trial for skin sensitivity, you can put a small amt on the pad of a bandaid, apply it to a clear skin site like the back &amp; check it over the next day.No break out,no sensitivity

Chemical burn: Ouch. Topical hair removal cream are not to be used on the vagina itself as they can cause chemical burns. Consider seeing an Obgyn so they can examine the area and determine if any treatment is needed

Canesten cream: will probably only relieve external sxs if you have a vaginal fungal infection.

Chemical diaper rash: Applying a barrier (ointments such as a ; d, desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) or vaseline, aveeno) to supplement the skin’s natural protections can help. Rinse the area or have her sit in a tub of tepid water and baking soda to speed healing. Air out the area. Do not wipe since this creates more friction and excoriation of the delicate skin of her genitals. If no improvement over 5-7 days-see your pediatrician.

Possibly...: However it depends on what the trash is from.  If it is from friction and just general irritation, it could.  However, i'd it is not, and from am infection of some sort, not likely.  It will not hurt you though.  Most likely if it does not improve, you should consider having your primary care or gyn doc give you a formal diagnosis.  I hope that helps!
