Your current regimen may be drying out skin would consider switching back to dove or other moisturizing soap..

hi there is a dry skin patch under my right eye and now i have random dry skin patches on my face and neck and right ear lobe. i have no idea why?

Such might be eczema: A primary care doctor or dermatologist can evaluate. To treat mild or moderate dry skin eczema, many people use hydrocortisone cream twice a day, for a week or two. It's cheap, found at most stores and works well. A daily moisturizing cream (Cetaphil, CeraVe, Eucerin, etc.) used 2-4 times a day helps to heal eczema and to prevent return of the rash. Most eczema patients try to avoid soaps.

Rash : The best way to understand a rash is by seeing it. Without seeing it someone can't be sure. I wonder if this is a fungal rash, eczema psoriasis

Dry skin: This can be due to many things- allergy, irritation from lotion or soap, dermatitis, eczema. Unfortunately very hard to say without exam. Try to identify if there is anything new in your skin care regimen that you began using prior to the dry skin appearing, and eliminate that for starters. If not better, see dermatologist. Use scent free products only.

Possibly eczema: Could be a number of things but most likely is a mild case of eczema. Eczema is often inherited and is more commonly seen in families with allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis , dry skin  and asthma.   I would first suggest trying non-drying cleansing bars such as dove and moisturizing the skin immediately after bathing with eucerin or a similar cream. Call your doctor if not improving.

my nephew who will be eight weeks thursday has dry patches of skin in the t-zone. he has lots of flakes in his hair also. suggestions? ketoconazole?

Hydration baths: At his age, i like to stay away from any prescription medications unless it is truly necessary.  Try to bath him in luke warm water with dove liquid soap.  After rinsing his skin, while still soaking wet, thinly rub in vasaline petroleum jelly for thirty seconds, then towel dry.  This should alieve most of his dryness and scaling.

Many possibilities..: Rashes can be from many causes, such as viral or other infections, medications, reactions to creams or lotions, allergic reactions to various things (including foods), internal disorders (such as kidney disease, auto-immune disease), etc... That means a rash that persists or is worrisome in appearance should be checked by a doctor. One can look up Pityriasis rosea to see how the pictures compare.

i've 2 quarter size inflamed dry patches of  skin that came up 2 weeks ago. its itchy! been given fucicort but it isnt working. do you have any ideas?

Depends on location: The spots could be a form of eczema. In my experience the medication works better in an ointment base for this type. If the fucicort is a cream you could try applying white petrolatum over it (like plasin vaseline). But there are other possible causes of what you describe, including a fungal infection, which could worsen with fucicort.

Could be: Many things varying from fungus(like tinea corporis), to eczema(like nummular - coin shaped - eczema) or other things too that are less common.
