Ulnar Nerve: supplies motor innervation to the adductor pollicis muscle in the thumb, the muscles of the hypothenar eminence and the intrinsic muscles of the palm (interossei and lumbricals)   The branches to the forearm muscles (extensor and flexor carpi ulnaris when compressed produce only minor weakness (vs what occurs when the nerve is cut)  One might develop a claw hand but not radial deviation

Perhaps: Radial deviation is unusual in most of the arhritides-ulnar deviation is more common, but another cause of metacarpophalangeal arthritis is calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease and hemochromatosis. A Rheumatologist or an Orthopedic Surgeon could advise in a specific case and do the appropriate tests.

Yikes: You could numb your eye with medication so you could do this painlessly.  But you have no ability to control the cutting instrument on yourself.  The likelihood is that you would slice open your eye and need emergency surgery.  Do not do this at home.  Anyway, lasik has totally replaced radial keratotomy as a more predictable and safer therapy.

Speak to a doctor about lasik/prk.

Should eliminate your pain and numbness to the dorsum of the hand. Usually done under general anesthesia or regional.
