It depends on the: type of stroke. If the stroke is from a blood clot from the heart, as would occur in atrial fibrillation, Crestor (rosuvastatin) would be ineffective. If it was a stroke due to cholesterol buildup, it is effective and can decrease risk of another stroke by about 50% at dose of 40 mg. For a stroke due to hemorrhage from high blood pressure, it would be ineffective. Aspirin or clopidogrel usually used with Crestor (rosuvastatin)
