i quit meth at 10 wks, only used few times. have taken prenatals whole time but didn't tell dr abt meth. what's the next step to ensure healthy baby?

Already answered: same question before.  You need to follow your OB provider's advice about taking good care of yourself, which should include good nutrition, vitamins, exercise, and the avoidance of ALL unnecessary substances - not only methamphetamine, but alcohol, excessive caffeine, TOBACCO (as bad as methamphetamine in its own way). You will need help with support and counseling. Talk to your doctor/counselor.

Too tempting: Meth is very addictive.  The temptation would be too great.  You would eventually go back to using it.  To quote a great source, "don't be unequally yoked.".

Start with sleep: hygiene. If not helpful, may wish to see your doctor. Retire &amp; rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark &amp; cool &amp; use only for sex &amp; sleep. Turn off TV. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs &amp; no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderately sized &amp; finish at least 2 to 3 hrs before sleep. Can try warm milk, chamomile tea or melatonin.

can i get meds to quit meth and cannabis when pregnant?

Accepted Answer

Possible: It is possible to use Methadone to quit methamphetamines during pregnancy (no drug to get off of cannabis), but this is not recommended.  Absolute best thing to do is get off the drugs completely before getting pregnant.  As the saying goes, if you're not ready to get off drugs before pregnancy, you won't be ready to get off the drugs during pregnancy.

No: There r meds that may help a little but we dont have an "addiction no more" pill.

Meth: Meth use in pregnancy is bad - both mom and fetus are at risk. BP , decreased placenta blood flow are major issues. Fetal death, premature delivery, behavioral issues in the baby are problematic. Fetal stroke can happen due to reduced blood flow and high bp.

Every choice we: make can leave a footprint in our body and mind.  The Good News is that we can reverse many of these.  Please start by stopping smoking and see your doctor and tell him/her.  Your doc will examine you and monitor you and hopefully you may return to good health.  Peace and good health.

Meth use and surgery: Probably wasn't a good idea to do that.   First off -  there is likely going to be a reaction between the meth and the anesthetic planned to be used.  Second since you are likely going to be coming off a meth high tomorrow your vital signs are going to be all over the place.   I would strongly suggest cancelling and meeting with anesthesia to discuss this situation.   Consider getting help too.

i used meth on accident in a vapor cigg yesterday and am going into surgery 2morow about 36 hours after the 3  puffs. will this prevent my surgery?

Tell the surgeon: You are probably safe but you need to tell the surgeon what happened even if you are not going to be drug tested. You also owe it to yourself to get away from these "friends." The next prank may kill you. Change your life's direction through hard work.
