What I am guessing you are trying to ask is the meaning of "quadriplegia or quadriplegic?"  so the term quadriplegia means "muscle paralysis in 4 limbs."  in practical terms you've probably heard the statement, "paralyzed from the neck down."  that's quadriplegia.  You don't need to include the word "muscle" along with the term.

Support sites: There are multiple support sites for quads.  I know there are many different ways to adapt instruments for specific weakness patterns.  I would search the web for people who have made the adaptations.  That being said, I think guitar might be difficult for quadriplegia.  You may want to look into other instruments - breath driven - that would be fun to learn and broaden your expertise.

I would recommend he see a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist.  You may also want to take him to a "model system" for sci which are usually at the major teaching hospitals. Good question!: I have tried to find answers for this, to no avail. Suggestions from our spinal cord injury rehab center include 1.  Have a way to call 911 from your bed 2. A companion dog who is trained to drag you to safety until help arrives, 3. Smoke and heat detectors through a home alarm service, who will send emergency personnel if they go off, and 4. A heat-triggered automatic sprinkler system.

Quad: A quadriplegic's heart works like everybody elses, it just happens to be located in a quadriplegic. There are differences possible due to the difference in physical work output of the body but I've never seen a long term study on the effects.
