Doctor can evaluate: Exam is needed. If skin blood spots, they are called petechiae (purpura if they are big), and are due to blood cells leaking out of the tiny blood vessels in the skin. After blood cells have leaked out, the area behaves just like a bruise (the body breaks down blood cells into different colored pigments). Sometimes they are nothing bad; other times they mean a serious blood or infection problem.

Vasculitis: These may be due to inflammation of blood vessels.  Usually these spots do not fade when pressed firmly with a finger - "non blanching."

Unlikely: It is unlikely to be from allergy to plants given the absence of itching.  You need to talk to your dermatologist to confirm that your daughter indeed has vasculitic lesions and if possible to reason for it.

Sun Burn: After sun exposure, skin may turn red in as little as 30 minutes but most often takes 2 to 6 hours. Pain is usually most extreme 6 to 48 hours after exposure. The burn continues to develop for 24 to 72 hours, occasionally followed by peeling skin in 3 to 8 days. Some peeling and itching may continue for several weeks as well as the redness.

after running, i get clusters of 3-6 purple spots that are 1-3 mm in diameter on my legs.  no pain.  no other symptoms.  is this normal?
