OCD: Start with  cognitive behavioral therapy with a cbt trained therapist with experience in ocd. The therapist will tell you if you also need to be referred to a psychiatrist for medication management. Best wishes.

Obsessive Compulsive: Disorder usually responds to a mix of psychotropic medication (such as ssri's) ; talking treatment. Cognitive behavioral therapy can be especially helpful. If you are getting help - would recommend that. Take care.

can pure ocd cause a lot of mood changes?

Not directly: Obviously, having severe OCD symptoms can be discouraging or even depressing, but mood changes are not an inherent part of ocd.  When depression sometimes coincides with OCD — and it does somewhat more than chance would suggest — it is diagnosed separately.    On a related note, ssri antidepressants also can treat OCD symptoms, as they help anxiety disorders too.

i have pure ocd and i spend a lot of time searching online for answers. is that a form of a mental reassurance compulsion? it's time consuming.

Yes! : It likely increases your anxiety and in these cases I suggest my patients stop surfing the Internet.. A firm of response prevention.

OCD: Your obsessive thought is normal.  I would continue on medication for OCD and discuss these thoughts with your therapist.

does pure-c or ocd with only compulsions (no obsessions) exist?

Probably not: The o/c ratio is variable in each patient but usually there is some of each present in a patient.  Whatever the ratio a combination of therapy and meds is best in producing benefits.

i have difficulty memorizing my subject notes day by day. my ocd test score is 55. i can't concentrate on memorizing subjects and get fed up quickly. why? and please give treatment and medication?

Yes, anxiety is part: of your situation and facing the day can evoke anxiety in many people.  Stick w/a good therapist who is experienced in treating this.  Please don't use medications only.  Peace and good health.

4 weeks on lexapro 10mg for anxiety/ocd (pure 'o') then on 20mg past week. still no effect, feelimg worse rather than better. time to stop/change? bromazepam perscribed as of last week on top, it isnt doing anything. antidepressants dont work for me?

You may need: a different antidepressant. Have you ever been on zoloft? I would give the lexapro (escitalopram) another 2 weeks before quitting it.
