Transmission: Normally one can perceive the pulse transmitted from the great vessels or heart in areas of the abdomen, chest or neck. Depends on body habitus. If impressive, have your doctor take a look at it. Vascular abnormalities can also present as pulsatile masses. A thorough exam aided by ct scans, mris, or ultrasounds can help determining the cause.

Twitch: This appears to be an irritable abdominal muscle which twitches involuntarily but doesn't cause painful cramps or spasms. It isn't a pulsating blood vessel. It is similar to twitching of an eyelid. Muscle fatigue can bring it on. Unless you develop widespread muscle twitching seen in calcium or magnesium deficiencies, I doubt you have anything to worry about. See your MD if you still have concerns

Pulse feeling: Under the left rib cage is tye spleen, if it is tender and pulsating you need to see your doctor.

Irritation: It could be from the rib itself which is causing the discomfort - or it could be some internal adhesions. I would see a surgeon and inquire.

Aneurysms: Aneurysms that occur in arteries other than the aorta (and not in the brain) are called peripheral aneurysms. Common locations for peripheral aneurysms include the artery that runs down the back of the thigh behind the knee (the popliteal artery), the main artery in the groin (the femoral artery), and the main artery in the neck (the carotid artery). See your doctor asap.

have a pulsing sensation in the middle under my rib cage. my pulse is normal and i feel fine i have just never felt this before. ?

Probably the aorta: The abdominal aorta (big artery from the heart) can often be felt, especially in thin people, right underneath the rib cage - in the midline ("solar plexus"). Unless it is enlarged, there is usually nothing to worry about. It may be hard for you to tell if it's enlarged, but given your age, I doubt it is. Talk to your doc about appropriate tests. And don't smoke! (most common reason for big aorta)

Pulsing: Pulsating symptoms are seen with artery movements and an aneurysm. Gall bladder dysfunction is a cause of right upper abdominal discomfort radiating around to the back. Your symptoms are atypical and I recommend an evaluation by a physician who will take a thorough history, perform a physical examination and order any appropriate tests in order to pinpoint the cause of your symptoms.

i occasionally have bouts of throbbing/sharp pain under left rib cage, subsiding w/ time. what on earth could this mean? for about 4 years. serious?

See a physician: Anything that's been going on for that long really should be evaluated by a physician - that is the only way to really assess if it's serious.  Diagnostic possibilities include a thoracic radiculopathy, intra-abdominal pathology (i.e. Spleen, kidney), trigger point, etc.

See a doctor: The area you refer to is where you will find your heart, left lung, and rib cage. Your symptoms could refer to any one or all these anatomical locations. Based on your interview and examination, your doctor can determine the studies you need to figure out what is wrong and what needs to be done.

Muscles: Probably muscle spasms. Try heat, massage, rest, stretching antiinflammatories.  If that doesn't help after one week, see doctor.
