No association: pulmonary embolism common especially after surgery and as such anticoagulation and antiembolic stockings employed.  If embolus does occur in small vessels, the symptoms are minimum to non. If in large vessels, cardiovascular collapse can occur.  Cava unbrellas are used as a preventative with DVT. No cancer association has been noted.

Yes: Patients with cancer are at a greater risk of developing blood clots. Ask your doctor about compression stockings that may reduce the risk clots in the legs. Also, i recommend to get up at least once an hour to walk around the plane.

Yes: This type of Chest scan is primarily focused on the pulmonary artery and vasculature which is why you received the contrast. However, it is still a Chest CT and it takes a good look and the lung tissue too.  It would see your lung tumor if it were there.

Good: Must of the pulmonary emboli are asymptomatic just because they are very small.  But when patients have symptomatic pulmonary emboli and they are treated 96% of them resolve without sequelae.
