i'm 19 weeks preganant and i notice that whenever i do simple things that involve my stomach muscles,  i recieve a sharp cramp.. is this normal?

Muscle twinges: Your abdominal muscles are being stretched in ways they have not been asked to before. You don't even have to be doing something and can feel those sharp, sudden twinges. As long as they are not prolonged or crampy, you are fine. Just another sign that your baby is growing well and working on getting the house bigger!

i am almost 20 weeks pregnant. i was sitting and  when getting up had pain. i think i may have hurt my stormach muscle. there was some burning pain for a while after (moderate but uncomfortable). the pain is coming and going now in different places?

Pain: Although it is likely you have strained your abdominal wall given your are pregnant and also experiencing pain elsewhere I would notify your OB provider.

Pregnancy Maybe.: The first question to answer was "when was your last menstrual period"?  If you have not missed a menstrual period then this goes farther down on the list of probability.  What is very common this time of year would be Viral illnesses that can cause fever and muscle aches
 Sinus infections  can drain causing a sore throat , nausea and perhaps vomiting.

Yes: Sure, it's quite possible. It's a painful process and you could easily strain a muscle in your chest wall.

Time: A pulled muscle is a tearing of some of the fibers of that muscle, which causes swelling, then pain.  It takes awhile for the swelling to resolve, but things that help include resting the area, ice packs periodically and non-steroidal drugs like ibuprofen.  Depending on how bad the injury is, the length of time to resolve can last from days to weeks.

It's possible: If your pain gets worse especially with mild movements I would recommend going to the emergency room to have a CAT scan check out your appendix. It may be muscular but you never want to mess around with appendicitis potentially being there.

Take ALEVE (naproxen): Hopefully you only over stretched some muscles ?  Try to take aleve (naproxen) twice a day for few days, if not getting better see a doctor.

Have U been checked?: Your "stomach pain" can be caused by lots of things &amp; may indeed originate outside the GI tract. Further evaluation is in order before anyone can answer "what to do."  Your doctor will want to re-examine you as well as know the quality, timing, duration, exact location, associations (eating, position, activity, stooling, urinating) of your pain to better direct the next appropriate testing.
