IPL: It is not uncommon after IPL to have more swelling and discoloration initially. But how much energy was used and what is your Fitzpatrick skin type? Please send a photo and this info to see if you are having a negative reaction that may require Rx.

He has special magnifying equipment that provides a good exam of the eyeball and the eyelids. The doctor can decide if there is infection, irritation or inflammation, lack of tears, abnormal eyelid position, something stuck in the eye, etc...

Set time every 30 min. Stand up, walk around for 5 then come back.

See if you can stand while using computer. Eyes will be less puffy as water flows down hill.

Ptosis??: The eyelid drops and so the opening is smaller. Could be neurological or muscular. Go to a good neuroophthalmologist who will guide you.

"Puffy eyelids" ?'s: Chinese foods are prepared for sale by adding mono-sodium glutamate ( a preservative measure) which can cause swelling secondary to fluid retention to balance the high sodium in the bloodstream. Call your primary care physician, who may prescribe a diuretic medication to treat this condition.  Alternatively, drink more water to neutralize the excess salt, promoting diuresis.

ER visit: This sounds like periorbital cellulitis and can be very serious. Get on antibiotics tonight. That infection can spread directly into the brain. Dr visit tonight.
