Just a thought: but some of my Complimentary Medicine  Colleagues suggest slices of CUCUMBER placed over the eyes.

Oh well what can you loose??

Could be a stye: This might be an obstructed gland in the eyelid.  If there only mild swelling or tenderness and no double vision or visual loss, try some warm compresses for a few days.

Stye: This sounds like a stye, which is an infected eyelid gland.  Put warm compresses on it 4 times a day.  If it does not get better in 3-4 days, see an ophthalmologist.

Probably not: Allergy can cause swelling under the eye and cause the area to look dark, like a bruise, but not soreness to touch. Your question implies only one eye; "allergic shiners" will always be present under both eyes. You should have your doctor evaluate this.

Recurrent eye: Redness could be from exposure to or contact with irritants (smoke, dust, allergens etc), blocked drainage of tears in the nasolacrimal duct, presence of stye etc. Follow up with the ophthalmologist. Take care!

i was given amoxicillin for sinus(headaches & pain under eyes) since taking the medicine i feel worse(nasal drip, sore throat) shld i stop taking it?

Sinus problems: Antibiotics rarely indicated. There is form of migraine- sinus referred headache but there are many methods to controll problem. Most are non- allergic or mixed sinusitis. Problem- blockage of air passages, mucous becomes thick and creates secondary problems. Comsult ENT specialist. Use neil med sinus rinse/ benzedrex inhaler, saline wash, breath right nasal strips-all otc. Meds like flonase- dr.

Needs to  be checked: Your daughter has fever,strawberry tongue and rash under eyes and on nose
The commonest cause of fever associated with strawberry tongue is streptococcal tonsillitis.It can also cause rash all over body&amp; red cheeks in children and it Scarlet Fever.But your daughter does not have rash of scarlet fever.
Needs to be examined and a quick strep test or throat culture is needed
She may need antibiotics

?anemia: Get her checked with lab work to rule out anemia or an infection.
