Sure: Pudendal nerve blocks can be done by anatomic landmarks, ie internally by palpation, or by using fluoroscopy or ultrasound to see the landmarks. The physician will likely inject local anesthetic and/or steroids for pain relief in the rectum, perineum, or genitals.

Call two MDs: It isn't normal, but I can't explain it without more information.  You need to call the anesthesiologist who did the procedure and the physician treating the problem who referred you for the block to see what needs to be done.

See below: Pudendal nerve id derived from s2, (racepinephrine) 3, 4 nerves. It gives branches to the inf. Rectal, perineal and dorsal nerve of penis. Block is at low buttock area (ischial tuberosity). You will get penile numness and some scrotal numbness. 
Main indication in males is for penile pain syndrome.

No: It is not normal to have numbness that long as local anesthetic effects do not last for that long as that is what causes numbness from those blocks, if it were damaged nerves from the block these are peripheral nerves and they do repair themselves, would discuss this with doc that did block as well as pcp, need to rule out other causes also.

after several wks of pain in l abdomen and high in vagina, i had a pudendal nerve block today. it made me numb between the legs, but still pain. my coccyx is a bit loose after it broke 25years ago when my child was born. still sensitive. what can it?

Donot worry : It is normal to feel like that ,there is no treatment except you can take off and on some Motrin

24 hours after pudendal nerve block: 1. no erection 2. right foot numb, walking with limp. cannot do calf raise of body weight right foot (could be done before block). what is potential for nerve damage? is it rare w these symptoms?
