Resistance to PTH: Pseudohypoparathyroidism is a rare condition which results in resistance to the effect of parathyroid hormone.  Hypocalcemia develops and causes tingling and muscle cramps and, rarely, seizures.

Test PTH and calcium: Hi. Pseudohypoparathyroidism (PHP) is an uncommon genetic defect with faulty PTH receptor signaling. You should see an endocrinologist for exam (there may be characteristic physical exam findings) and measurement of calcium, phosphate, calcitriol, and PTH. In hypopara, PTH is low and calcium is low. In PHP, calcium is low and PTH is elevated.  Good luck.

Measure PTH: Hi. It&#x27;s quite easy, really. Document low blood calcium, high blood phosphate, and high PTH in a patient who is short and has short fingers &amp; toes, etc. It can tested for provocatively by injecting PTH (or teriparatide) and measuring urinary cyclic AMP. See an endocrinologist with an interest in calcium metabolism. Good luck!

This is moot: There are several forms of pseudohypoparathyroidism, variably inherited in various forms depending on the affected parent. It should be clear already whether you have the bony abnormalities.  Some simple labs will tell whether you have the renal calcium loss, blood calcium and parathormone level abnormalities. Chocolate : This is not scientific but neither is having babies!   Try anything chocolate.   Eat romantic foods.   Avoid alcohol and stimulants.  Relax.  Enjoy being married without children.   The more you relax and enjoy your spouse the better your marriage will be and the more prepared you we be to be a parent.  You are learning patience and you will need it! Usually, no.: Only safe, "generic" answer is that you should decide this in conference with your gyn dr after an assessment. (and your partner, of course.) as women pursue advanced degrees and career standing, pregnancy is routinely falling into the 30's and sometimes 40's. It's what is safe / healthy for you.

STD's and PID: Sexually transmitted diseases can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease.  PID can lead to later infertility.
