Cleaning fumes bad: Cleaning chemicals can be caustic and the fumes especially bad for your lungs. Inhaling propane all the time is bad for your liver.
I suggest you go to a good dollar store and get a surgical mask, which may help a little. Don't mix different types of cleaners. Always put the fan on in the bathroom when cleaning. Try to use a fan in the Laundry.

 I'm sure your lungs and bronchi weren't too happy either, but likely no lasting damage.
 I would stay out until you don't see smoke. You may want to set up a fan to blow out the window if it still stinks. Eat light if nauseated, it should pass.

Allergy or virus: It's certainly possible you had an allergic reaction to what you inhaled however of you remove the cause of the cough (the cleaner) - it should resolve . Also, keep in mind that this could be incidental and you could have a virus as well.
