I would listen: To your doctor.  If you use it and it works, it may have worked anyway but you are spending money on this and if there is any chance it helps then use it if tolerated.

Possibly: It depends on what type of Progesterone you are taking and how strong it is. Since you did IUI check a pregnancy test or follow your fertility specialists instruction for blood BHCG testing to see if the IUI worked. This is the more important issue than whether or not the Progesterone will delay your cycle.

Progest after IUI: If you have a low Progesterone level 1 week after ovulation, vaginal Progesterone it a good idea!  it will not guarantee a pregnancy, but it will correct the luteal phase (two week interval from ovulation to menses) of your cycle.  Low Progesterone levels can explain infertility, and. I diagnoses this by endometrial biopsy and Progesterone level. Try the therapy for 3 cycles because it works!.
