i take prilosec daily. is there something else i can take that will be more healthy but will help in the same way? if i don't take it i hurt a lot.

?: I don't understand the question.  More healthy? Gerd is not healthy.  So take the medicine! there are other medicines that also work but none are "more healthy".  Each have their own set of side effects like every other otc and rx medication in existence.  Other things to do: change your diet to multiple small meals that are less acidic and spicy.  Drink more water. Lose weight. Don't smoke.

Prilosec: Long term treatment with PPI agents such as this is not advisable due to serious side effects, also a formal diagnosis must be established prior to long term therapy, pre cancerous lesion may be masked if not evaluated by imaging (endoscopy)

Yes: But make sure to follow up with your doctor before stopping the medication.

No interaction: Although the coffee shouldn't interact with this medication, the caffeine in it may flare up acid reflux.  See how you feel after your coffee!

i take 125 milligrams of simithicone as needed for gas. it does not always work any suggestions? i do take prilosec daily for acid.

1st, check diet: Avoid carbonated beverages, smoking, drinking through a straw, chewing gum, sugarless candies. Intake of gassy foods, like beans, legumes, dairy (for some people), etc.  Check with your doc.

i take 40mg prilosec and 10mg lipitor (atorvastatin) daily. i just got rx for valium to take before procedure. are these meds safe to take together? interactions?

i take 40mg prilosec daily. was given 5mg of valium iv on friday. read that it can interact. now very anxious and nervous that i will have breathing issues. can one dose of valium affect this since i have taken prilosec for over a year? very worried?

: Hello. Relax. A daily dose of Prilosec will not interact with a 5mg dose of Valium. We use Valium as a pre-op dose before in-office procedures and I’ve never had a patient stop their Prilosec. No worries.

i take prilosec and zyrtec (cetirizine) d on a daily basis. would creatine mixed with these have any additional effects on my health/body?

Not Likely: I do not like to give patients Zyrtec-D on a regular basis because the pseudoephedrine in it can cause increased heart rate, blood pressure, insomnia, irritability, and agitation.  Prilosec can cause some vitamins and minerals not to absorb into the body from the digestive tract as easily so if you are seriously working out you might discuss this with your doc.  These don't interact with creatine.

i was given amox and doxy . i have stomach issues and take prilosec daily . when should i take it especially since this will irritate my stomach?

: That's hard isn't because you already have stomach or esophageal problems.  Try a little yogurt or milk with the antibiotics.
