i coughed very hard while deficating, felt a pop inside me.now lots of pain and pressure 3 inches above my rectum. i feel lumps under my skin putting painful pressure on my upper buttock. is this a hernia?

Rectal : Rectal hernias are very rare. They are often confused with hemorrhoids. Rectal prolapse is a possibility (rectum protruding through the anus). Regardless. You need to see your doctor right away for an evaluation. If you still have the pain and pressure and you are unable to see your doctor present to your local urgent care or er.

: The prostate which is located in front of the rectum may engorge when you have erection and that could be the reason for your feeling. Take care.

Lots of stuff: How long have you had the symptoms?  Brand new?  See your doc asap. Could be diverticulitis, appendicitis.
More chronic? Could be spasm (proctalgia fugax-more common in uptight men), more common stuff includes anal fissures (tears), hemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel, also tumors, isolated rectal ulcer; less likely diverticulitis, or appendicitis.  Could be gyn issues

More info: where exactly is this?  near your tailbone?   Is it hard or soft?  Is it moveable or fixed?  Is it close to the anus?  Do you have other symptoms, ie rectal bleeding etc?  Is it under the skin or hanging off of the skin.  possibilities include abscess, cyst, hemorrhoid, lipoma etc depending on where it is

G.I. Bleed...: Possibly a medical emergency. Fresh red blood coming from the rectum is always a cause for concern. Hemorrhoids would be a common cause, but other things, such as ulcers, blood vessel malformations, or cancerous lesions should be ruled out--especially given your feeling of "blood pressure drop." This should be evaluated immediately with vital signs, physical exam, possible labs, and other testing.

Urinary retention?: A very full bladder can cause this. If you are still unable to urinate you need to go to a nearby ER or urgent care center.

Coccydinia: is there any history of trauma  in the area.  Fracture should be considered.  Did you have  x ray?
