Should be okay: .. as long as it is a naturally occurring vitamin that would normally exist in the body.  If it is artificial, even without knowledge of the exact substance, I would recommend against putting in your body while you are breast-feeding your child.  Just know that whatever you are trying to do to help yourself with these vitamins may very well end up working on the infant as well.

No: Generally there are no side effects from prenatal vitamins except for some constipation from the iron in them.

Might be pregnant or: While most pregnancy tests will be positive about a week after missing a period (if you are pregnant of course) sometimes it takes a bit longer so if your period does not start in a few days check again and use first morning urine (more accurate). It is not unusual for periods to be late even if not pregnant- this happens for various reasons and is usually not serious, time will tell...

No: Prenatal vitamins do not cause breast tenderness, changes in hormone levels like estrogen lead to this.  If persists and not controlled then see your doctor for further eval.

Unlikely: I've never heard of any vitamins causing breast tenderness. Vitamins are very unlikely to cause fatigue, gas or abdominal pain unless you're allergic to one or more of the ingredients- for example, some vitamins contain soy or gluten which are common allergens. If you're sure you aren't pregnant then try stopping them to see if you feel better, then restart. If it causes problems try another type.

i tried it only one time in a smoothie a couple of days before my cycle was due. then 2 days later lower back pain and sore breast for 2 days. now i'm 4 days late. negative pregnancy test?

Vitamins are okay: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
